Begin your Raw and Rustic adventure in one of the world’s most surreal landscapes. Camp Kalahari sits at the heart of the Makgadikgadi Pans, where vast expanses of gleaming white salt sand stretches beneath endless skies.

Your local guides will lead you on game drives and quad bike expeditions across the pans, sharing their intimate knowledge of this seemingly barren wilderness and revealing hidden wildlife including brown hyena, red hartebeest, springbok, and the beloved meerkats.

Experience quintessential San culture through storytelling and traditional skills, while nocturnal night drives reveal the desert’s most secretive inhabitants. As darkness falls, the unpolluted skies transform into a canvas of stars unlike anywhere else on earth. This immersive introduction sets the tone for ground-level exploration through some of Botswana’s most sought after areas.

You’ll transfer by charter plane to Moremi Game Reserve where Brave Africa will be waiting to share the water-rich ecosystems and this phenomenal predator-prey paradise with you.

As the oldest and first protected game reserve within the Okavango Delta, Moremi is also considered one of the best places in Africa to view wild dog. You’ll spend the next few days travelling the park with Brave Africa’s expert guides and learning about the complex ecosystems of Moremi and the diverse flora and fauna inhabiting them.

Your mobile camp is set up ahead of your arrival each day. The camps are positioned in the heart of the action with frequent night-time visitors passing by under the cover of darkness. Accommodation: Brave Africa Mobile Khwai
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

On the northeastern outskirts of the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, sits Khwai, an amazing jigsaw puzzle system of lagoons, shallow flooded pans, open grasslands, and woodland forests. With over 1,800km of unspoiled wilderness, it is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful destinations to safari in Botswana.

Khwai Camp is located on the banks of the Khwai River. You’ll fall asleep to the sounds of hippos lowing and wake up to the haunting call of the African fish eagle. Khwai, with it’s variety of eco-systems, is rich in life. Predator activity is prolific – you may get to watch wild dogs denning with their puppies, leopards reclining in sausage trees, cheetahs hunting on the plains, and possible the famous Khwai lion pride whose interactions with buffalo provide regular drama.

Your days here will be spent exploring the diverse landscape with game drives, night drives, and walking safaris. You’ll also have the chance to meet some of the people living within the Khwai Community.

Accommodation: Brave Africa Mobile Savute
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

Your journey concludes in Savute, renowned for its dramatic wildlife action and large wildlife concentrations. Here daily game drives are spent exploring the vast, mysterious landscape including the rocky outcrops of the Gubatsa Hills.

The ever-changing Savute Channel, which mysteriously flows and disappears with seasonal transformation, continually reshapes the plains and dictates wildlife movement, creating unpredictable and thrilling encounters.

Evenings are spent telling stories around the campfire of the days events.

On your final morning, fly to Maun where you’ll connect with your onward departure flights.

Best time to explore

May to October is the optimal time to journey across these four destinations. During these months, weather conditions are ideal with cool mornings and evenings, warm sunny days, and minimal to no rainfall. April and November are transitional months which offer excellent value, fewer crowds, and a blend of both seasonal characteristics – still-green landscapes with improving wildlife visibility and emerging dry season game concentrations.

April is particularly recommended for combining lush scenery with solid wildlife viewing and lower accommodation rates. This period allows for potential to witness the legendary zebra and wildebeest migration at Makgadikgadi, though note that this will limit or modify your Savute component due to seasonal access constraints.
