Your Itinerary

Accommodation: Waterberry Lodge
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

Fly into Livingstone Airport (Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International) from where youโ€™ll transfer to Waterberry Lodge, a green oasis on the banks of the Zambezi River. Explore Victoria Falls from the quieter Zambian side where youโ€™ll be guided along rainforest paths for heart-stopping views and reach back in time to learn about Dr. Livingstone’s arrival here in 1855.

During your three days here, you might visit the fascinating Livingstone Museum, alternatively, a local village for insights into Toka Leya life and traditions.Your afternoon offers adventure options: maybe a sunset cruise on the Upper Zambezi watching elephants swim between islands, or for the bold, Devil’s Pool where you can swim right to the edge of the Falls in a natural rock pool.

Try white-water rafting through the Batoka Gorge, horse-back safari in the park, bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge, or a scenic helicopter flight (these activities at an additional charge). Your time here draws to a close with dinner overlooking the river and the distant rumble of Mosi-oa-Tunya as your soundtrack.

Accommodation: King Lewanika Lodge
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

Youโ€™ll transfer by light aircraft to Liuwa Plain airstrip. This 1.5 hour flight reveals a shift to seemingly endless grasslands. Youโ€™ll spend the next three exceptional days in Liuwa Plain National Park, one of the wildest conservation areas in Africa. From King Lewanika Lodge, youโ€™ll experience Zambiaโ€™s untouched wilderness and some of Africaโ€™s most impactful wildlife moments.

Each morning, set out across the grasslands, tracking massive herds of blue wildebeest as they traverse the plains in the continentโ€™s second-largest migration (in full flow during the months of November and December), accompanied by zebra, tsessebe, and red lechwe. The abundance of prey brings predators – lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and possibly wild dogs.

The floodplains, dotted with wildflowers, reveal ever-changing habitats and incredible birdlife, from crowned cranes to massive flocks of white storks. In between game drives, relax in the tranquility of your remote camp or explore the park on guided walks. Liuwa Plainโ€™s extraordinary scale and the raw drama of life here makes every day feel like a discovery.

Accommodation: Chisa Busanga Camp
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

Youโ€™ll catch a charter flight bound northwest (1.5 hours) to Kafue National Park, Zambia’s oldest and largest park, and host to animals found nowhere else in Zambia. Youโ€™ll transfer to eco-friendly Chisa Busanga Camp in the heart of the Busanga Plains where you’ll stay in one of their exclusive “nests” built at eye-level to the fringe of trees in which the camp is situated.

Each year this area comes into flood during the rainy season and then drains through the dry season, creating a 750-square-kilometre grassland paradise – Kafue’s crown jewel. Youโ€™ll likely see vast herds of puku and lechwe bounding through shallow water, zebra, wildebeest, and the predators that follow them, all spectacularly adapted to life in these wetlands.

The birdlife here is exceptional: crowned cranes, saddle-billed storks, and raptors including martial eagles and bateleurs. If water levels permit (July-September), your camp might offer excursions in specialised “swamp vehicles” or even boat trips on the Lufupa River channels. Your evening sundowners with views across the plains, bathed in golden light, reinforce Kafue’s grandeur.

Accommodation: Chiawa Camp
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

After breakast, you’ll transfer to the airstrip from where you’ll catch a charter flight to Lower Zambezi National Park. Here you’ll be met and transferred to Chiawa Camp, an idyllic tented camp set up along the Zambezi River’s edge. Settle into your luxury tent overlooking the river. Youโ€™ll wake here each morning to the breathtaking sight of mist rising off the Zambezi as dawn breaks.

Each day youโ€™ll explore the parkโ€™s verdant forests and flood plains with your private guide. Watch elephants feeding belly-deep in the river and buffalo herds moving like armies through the winterthorn groves. Lions often hunt along the floodplains at dusk, leopards recline in mahogany tree branches, and wild dog packs traverse this valley.

Youโ€™ll have the chance to explore the area by canoe. Paddle silently past hippos wading in the river channels, observe elephants drinking, and watch carmine bee-eaters darting from their riverbank burrows. This unique perspective creates a connection to nature that is impossible to experience from a vehicle.

Your dinners will be spent under the stars, lanterns creating an Out of Africa atmosphere as the Zambezi flows past and the African night chorus performs around you.

Accommodation: Puku Ridge Camp
Board Basis: All-Inclusive Find out more

A 45-minute morning flight brings you northeast to South Luangwa where youโ€™ll immerse yourself in the wild rhythms of the Luangwa Valley. You’ll stay at Puku Ridge Camp in one of eight luxury tented retreats overlooking the Kakumbi floodplain.

The density of wildlife here is staggering: massive herds of buffalo, territorial hippo pods, elephants crossing the river, and giraffes browsing on the floodplains. But the real prize is leopards. South Luangwa has earned its reputation as perhaps Africa’s finest leopard viewing destination.

Each morning, set out early for guided walks, getting up close to wildlife and learning bushcraft from experienced guides. The vulnerability of being on foot transforms every encounter from observing normally skittish impala herds to appreciating the finer details such as a dung beetle rolling its prize along a rutted animal track.

Late afternoons game drives transitions into night drives. Spotlights reveal leopards on the hunt, genets in the trees, porcupines waddling along roads, and if incredibly fortunate, perhaps an aardvark or honey badger. The density of leopard sightings on night drives, at a time when they are most active, is simply unmatched.

On your final morning, you’ll transfer by light aircraft (1.5 hours) to Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport where you’ll catch your connecting international flights homeward bound.
